Preston is a vet, so automatically I had to give his gym a try. I’m more on the grappling side of things and he is clearly extremely knowledgeable on his craft and has a genuine love for ju jitsu. Having not performed martial arts for about 25+ years, I wasn’t quite sure how things would go, but he definitely works with you and teaches you based on your current abilities while working with you to get you better with any conditioning or mobility issues that may hold you back a bit. I also put my boys in his kids class and they love going! His patience is unmatched with the kids too! My kids and I very much enjoy the sport so far and he’s a great, knowledgeable guy to have teaching you! 10/10 recommend giving it a try!
Being a former martial artist with a more striking based style, I’ve always wanted to try jiu jitsu because the ground guys always give a good battle. After meeting Preston and hearing he was opening this gym, I figured I’d give it a try and have not been disappointed. He knows his stuff and is happy to answer any questions I have and to demonstrate things as many times as it takes for all of us to learn and get better. I’m only able to do once a week, but still feel like I’m learning a lot and while I may not always look forward to working out after work, I always feel much better afterward having got the good workout and learned new self defense techniques! Definitely recommend giving Howler’s Den a try! 5 stars!
From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and motivated to put in the work. Ashley is passionate, supportive, and genuinely invested in your progress. I have completed several sessions of personal training with her and can already notice the progress I am making in the short amount of time.
The cardio kickboxing and Jiu-Jitsu are great classes offered here as well. The best part of all is children are welcome since they offer a kids Jiu- Jitsu class!

We recently started taking our little girl for JuJitsu Kid’s Classes and their program is fantastic. Highly recommend to any parent looking for a school local to Fayette County!
